Do I praise other people's children?

Ok, I missed a blog day but I was sick ok?

I sat near a mom with two children in a waiting room this week. The children were good and were talking to one another. The little boy was about 4 and kept humming the tune to the Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies. It was so sweet. His mother finally told the two children to hush. As I left I told her that I had enjoyed listening to them (especially the humming). She acted totally shocked.

It really said something to me about the fact that parents are always sensitive to the disapproval of others and more often experience it. We need to be just as ready to praise well-behaved children as we are to show our disapproval when they are little monsters.
